The great set of the epic silent movie TEN COMMANDMENTS was buried and abandoned right where it was filmed-- on the Central Coast of California. An enterprising documentary filmmaker researched DeMille's memoirs and discovered the precise location of an entire Egyptian city under the windswept sand dunes. A small collection of statues has been excavated, and the local Dunes Center exhibits artifacts from this bygone era of filmmaking.
